Position Summary
CFMA is seeking a strategic, relationship-driven professional to serve as Chapter Strategy Manager. Reporting to the Director, Chapter Engagement, this highly visible role leads the strategic planning process for CFMA’s local chapters — preparing, facilitating, and delivering final strategic plans that chapter boards can act on.
A central expectation of this role is the ability to confidently facilitate strategic planning sessions and present to senior-level construction financial professionals serving as volunteer chapter leaders. Success requires strong executive presence, comfort speaking in front of a room, and a willingness to travel regularly across the assigned region.
Working from chapter health metrics maintained by the Chapter Engagement Program Manager, the Chapter Strategy Manager helps each chapter build a living strategic plan with measurable goals, regular progress check-ins, and clear accountability tied to quarterly health improvements. This role partners closely with chapter leaders, the Chapter Resource Committee, and national staff leadership to strengthen engagement and drive chapter and member success.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the full strategic planning cycle for assigned chapters — preparing session materials, facilitating planning discussions with volunteer boards, and delivering the final documented strategic plan.
- Facilitate planning sessions and present to senior-level construction financial professionals serving in volunteer leadership roles, navigating varied leadership dynamics and personalities to build alignment around shared goals.
- Conduct regular check-ins with chapter leaders to monitor progress against the plan, address challenges, and refine priorities as needed.
- Partner with the Chapter Engagement Program Manager to review chapter health metrics, identify support needs, and align strategy accordingly.
- Serve as a trusted partner to chapter leaders and the Chapter Resource Committee, providing guidance, responsive communication, and shared vision.
- Represent CFMA in a high-visibility capacity through presentations, meetings, trainings, and events.
- Collaborate with the Director, Chapter Engagement and national staff to advance shared departmental and organizational goals.

- Ability to translate data, feedback, and observations into measurable, attainable action plans.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities with professionalism and responsiveness.
- Willingness and ability to travel approximately 50% within the assigned region.
Preferred Experience
